A NotiTrac guide for Fitbit Air and iPhone
How do I set up the Shortcuts automation for my Fitbit Air?
Six taps per app. Open Shortcuts, add an automation for the app's notifications, tell it to run immediately, and give it the Buzz My Air action. NotiTrac's in-app guide does the same walk-through with pictures.
Before you start
- NotiTrac installed, your Air picked, and a test buzz that works.
- iOS 27 or later. That is the version where Shortcuts gained a trigger that watches any app's notifications.
- The app you want to feel on your wrist, installed and allowed to send notifications.
The automation
- Open the Shortcuts app and tap Automation at the bottom.
- Tap + (or New Automation) and choose the Notification trigger.
- Pick the app whose notifications should buzz your Air. If the trigger offers filters, you can narrow it to a sender or a word in the title; leave them empty for all of that app's notifications.
- Choose Run Immediately, and turn off any "ask before running" option. An automation that waits for a confirmation never reaches your wrist.
- Tap Next, then New Blank Automation or add an action, search for Buzz My Air, and add it.
- Tap Done. Send yourself a notification from that app with the phone locked and feel for the buzz.
Repeat for each app. Calls don't need this; they use the call setup inside NotiTrac.
If nothing happens
- Check the automation is on, in the Automation list.
- Check it runs immediately, not after asking.
- Check the action is Buzz My Air and that the app's notifications are actually allowed in iPhone Settings.
- Check NotiTrac's quiet hours and spacing; a buzz you just had may be holding the next one back on purpose.
The troubleshooting guide separates connection problems from automation problems.
