A NotiTrac guide for Fitbit Air and iPhone
How do I get my Fitbit Air data into Apple Health?
Turn on sharing in Google Health. It takes a minute, and from then on your Air's steps, distance, energy, heart rate and sleep appear in the Health app for every other app to use.
Turn it on
- Open Google Health and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Partner apps, then Apple Health.
- Turn on the categories you want shared, then allow them in the Health sheet that iPhone shows.
- Open Google Health once more so it syncs. The first figures usually land in Apple Health within a few minutes.
What doesn't
Readiness, sleep score, cardio load, zone minutes and skin temperature stay inside Google Health. They aren't Apple Health categories Google writes to, so no app on the iPhone can read them, NotiTrac included.
How NotiTrac uses it
NotiTrac reads only the figures that Google Health wrote. If Apple Health also holds steps from your iPhone or an Apple Watch, NotiTrac leaves those out, so what you see is your Air and nothing else. A dash means Google Health hasn't written that figure yet, not that something is broken. The health data notice has the exact list.
If figures stop updating
- Open Google Health. Syncing to Apple Health happens when Google Health runs, and iOS may not run it in the background for long.
- Check Health app permissions: your picture, Apps, Google Health, and make sure the categories are allowed.
- After a NotiTrac buzz, Google Health may need to reconnect to the Air before it can sync. It does so on its own when opened.
