A NotiTrac guide for Fitbit Air and iPhone

Can my Fitbit Air vibrate for Telegram messages?

Yes, on an iPhone. NotiTrac makes your Fitbit Air vibrate whenever Telegram sends a notification. You won't see the message, so the real work is deciding which Telegram notifications deserve a buzz.

Choose what Telegram notifies you about

Telegram keeps separate switches for private chats, groups and channels under Settings → Notifications and Sounds. Channels and big groups are the noisy part: turn them off there, or mute them one by one, and only people writing to you directly reach your wrist. A muted chat sends no notification, so it never vibrates the Air.

Set up the buzz

Notifications from Telegram are part of NotiTrac Pro, a monthly subscription. You add one Shortcuts automation for Telegram:

  1. Open Shortcuts, tap + and choose Automation.
  2. Scroll to Notification and choose When I receive a notification from App.
  3. Tap App and pick Telegram.
  4. Search the actions for Buzz, add NotiTrac's action, then go back to save.
  5. Lock your phone and wait for the next Telegram notification, or set one up to test. Your Air should vibrate within a few seconds.

The Shortcuts guide has the same steps in more detail, and NotiTrac walks you through them in the app.

Telegram calls

Telegram calls normally ring through the iPhone's call screen, like a phone call, so they come through NotiTrac's free Phone automation and the Air vibrates while it rings. Apps handle calls in slightly different ways, so ask someone to call you on Telegram once to check.

Keep it calm

All three are under Alerts in NotiTrac. Calls always come through.
