A NotiTrac guide for Fitbit Air and iPhone
Which apps can make my Fitbit Air buzz?
Any app that sends you a notification, and only the ones you choose. Messages, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Gmail, your calendar, your bank. One short buzz each, and nothing from the rest.
How you choose
You make one automation per app in Apple's Shortcuts app, which takes about a minute each; NotiTrac's guide walks you through it. Each automation says: when this app sends a notification, run Buzz My Air. Apps without an automation stay silent on your wrist, however loud they are on your phone.
NotiTrac needs iOS 27, because that is the version where Shortcuts can watch any app's notifications. On the automation guide you'll find the exact taps.
Apps people set up first
- Phone calls: free, and the only one that keeps buzzing until you answer.
- Messages and iMessage: one buzz per message, a busy thread folded into one.
- WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal: the same, and their voice calls count as calls if they ring through the iPhone's call screen.
- Instagram, TikTok, X: handy for the two people whose replies you actually want. Most people leave the rest off.
- Gmail and Mail: usually filtered to a few senders using the automation's own filters.
- Calendar and Reminders: a nudge ten minutes before the thing.
- Banking and delivery apps: the alerts that are worth a tap on the wrist.
What each one feels like
A notification is one short buzz, whichever app it came from. Several from the same app in quick succession are folded into one, so a group chat doesn't rattle you. Quiet hours and a minimum gap between buzzes are in NotiTrac's Alerts settings. A ringing call is the exception: it repeats until you answer.
What it costs
Calls are free. Notifications from every other app, the wake alarm and Find my Air are NotiTrac Pro, a single purchase with no subscription. The price is shown in the app and on the App Store.
